Yes, you heard it right, Mugs is my name. It is not my real name, though, silly! It’s my nickname. You see, my Mom and Dad were going to name me Ruth Mary, but my Dad changed his mind last minute without telling my Mom! He made a bold move to switch my name to Madeline Adelaide. My Mom was not very happy with the name change and decided to call me Mugs. And THAT is how my nickname was born.
When I was younger, I was not very confident. I was scared of the world around me. Some might say I was a “scaredy-cat.” One day, my Grandpa began to tell me a very cool story. He said when he was young, he was also not very confident. He said his Mom, my Grandma, taught him how to dig deep and find his “superpowers.” That day, everything changed for me. He told me that I have “superpowers” too! I ran outside to tell my sister. Her name is Puddles. Puddles is my best friend. She is very smart and helps keep me out of trouble. I told her what my Grandpa told me, that we could dig deep and find within ourselves our very own “superpowers.”
Puddles, and I love having “superpowers.” When we started looking at confidence as a “superpower,” I knew we could do anything we set our mind to from now on!
I found a new sense of courage when I saw our cat in the tree. I made sure my shoelaces were tied tight and set off to get the cat out of the tree. It was a success, and my sister, Puddles, was cheering me on from down below! I scared off the monsters that Puddles thought were under the bed and EVEN dove off a diving board! I think my newfound “superpower” will help me next year as I start school like my two older brothers. I will miss Puddles when I go to school! She is my best friend and partner in crime!
Hi, I am Puddles! My Grandpa gave me my nickname. He said I was like a puddle of goo when I was firstborn. I also really like to jump in puddles. My Grandma says he calls me that because he loves me so much. That makes me so happy. I love getting into adventures with my sister, Mugs! We have a blast together. Like Mugs said, we both have “superpowers.”
They came from my Grandma and her super-secret rainbow cupcake recipe with EXTRA sprinkles! Mugs and I wrote a book where we tell you all about it! Mugs and I are really good at arts & crafts! One day Mugs found a box, and we decided to turn it into A CASTLE! We are in charge of marketing, and we hope you join us and all of our friends!
Mugs and Puddles’ goal is to build confidence through learning, helping each child to dig deep and find their “superpowers.” By making learning fun and exposing children to various things, we know more exposure will help them find their true passion. This will help build a “superpower” confidence journey that will shape your entire future.
